Announcement from Hillary of NYC Scraps:
Introducing our latest class Sassy Scrap Techniques with our new teacher Sherry Steveson!! |
I bet you've been wondering what we've been up to here at NYC Scraps!!! For the last few months, I've been focusing on family and my health, getting back into exercise and good food, and finishing up the school year with Luca. I've also been having lots of fun doing digital scrapbooking.
So what's next for NYC Scraps? We have a BRAND NEW teacher, Sherry Steveson, who will be teaching her first class with us at NYC Scraps during the month of July. You may know Sherry from her work that has been published in just about every scrapbook magazine on earth, as well as soon-to-be published book with Memory Maker Books entitled When Life Gives You Lemons: turning sour photos into sweet layouts. She is also currently writing another book The Scrapbookers Embellishment Handbook. Here's a description from Sherry of what is sure to be another wonderful class at NYC Scraps: Class Description: Learning a new technique for your scrapbook pages can breathe new life into your style whether you are someone that has only been scrapbooking for a few months or several years. I often find that I can get stuck doing some of the same ideas over and over without realizing it and it can be nice to change it up a bit. Learning a new technique can be just the trick to spice up your pages. Techniques Covered:
Detailed handouts and examples will walk you through each step. Each technique will be created on tags offered as a template you can download and then replicate and bind together to save as a reference. Here's a beautiful example:
As with all NYC Scraps classes, registered students will be given access to their class forum 1-2 days prior to the class start date. New class handouts will be available for download three times a week during July for a total of 12 classes. You can log on at any time to download your class handouts, and they will remain available for the duration of the class. Each student will also have access to a class gallery and can upload images of their completed layouts. You will have access to the teacher for feedback and questions, and again, like previous NYC Scraps classes, the teacher really wants you to enjoy yourself and have fun. Dates: This class will be held 3 times a week in July for a total of 12 sessions. You will come away from the class with several new techniques that you can immediately begin using on your own pages. The exact dates that handouts will be uploaded are as follows: July 1, 3, 7, 9, 11, 14, 15 21, 23, 25 ,28, 30. Please remember that each handout can be downloaded at ANY time from the class forum site. Cost: The class will cost $25 for the entire month. This cost covers all handouts, interaction with Sherry, access to a private forum and gallery and the potential for feedback from Sherry....just ask!! The interaction between fellow students is what sets NYC Scraps classes apart from just about every other class on the Net...we have a really special group of women who take our classes, and I know you'll enjoy the cameraderie as you learn. To register: If you already have a username at the forums on nycscraps.com (http://www.nycscraps.com/forum) then you can go right ahead and Paypal Hillary at nycscraps@yahoo.com . Be sure to add your username to the Paypal note, or Hillary has NO WAY to add you to the forums and come class day, you'll wonder what the heck is going on (believe me, it's happened before!) If you forget to add your forum username to the paypal note, just email Hillary at nycscraps@yahoo.com and let her know that you've paid, and what your forum name is. To pay, you can either go to paypal.com and send $25 to nycscraps@yahoo.com or you can simply click here ..remember, don't forget to include your forum username! IMPORTANT NOTE: Don't worry if you get a message saying you can't log in to the forums or that you don't have access to certain features, even after registering. I will MANUALLY be validating all students to the class forum a couple of days before class begins. I am so excited about this class! Remember, these classes fill up fast, so if you'd like to participate, please register today! Sincerely,
Hillary Heidelberg
